BTS also known as Bangtan Sonyeondan, Bangtan Boys, or Beyond The Scene, is a seven member south korean boyband.The group debuted in June 13, 2013 but was training in Big Hit Entertainment (HYBE now) for several years prior to their first album being released. Each BTS member was specifically selected to complete the group which is made of rappers, dancers, and vocalists.Originally a hip hop group, their musical style has evolved to include a wide range of genres. Their lyrics, often focused on personal and social commentary, touch on the themes of mental health, troubles of school-age youth, loss, the journey towards loving oneself, and individualism. Their work features references to literature and psychological concepts and includes an alternative universe storyline.In the nine years BTS's list of accomplishments is ever-growing. They are the first K-pop band to top Billboard 200 album charts (5 #1 albums), and Billboard Hot 100 (5 #1 songs). BTS won awards at the American Music Awards, MTV Video Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards, and South Korea's Melon Music Awards, MAMA, Golden Disc Awards, etc. having approximately 340 awards in total and 19 Guiness Records so far. In 2020, BTS made history after became the first Korean act to perform at the Grammys and being nominated for the Grammys 2021.ARMY(means Adorable Representative M.C for Youth) is the name of the fandom of BTS.
